The K2 Apache Recon is a high-performance adventure ski that excels on all aspects of the mountain and in all snow conditions. Due to its wide 78mm waist and versatile sidecut, Recon adapts seamlessly to any environment. Cap construction envelops the wood core and internal materials with the top layer of the ski, keeping overall weight light and durability high. Fir/aspen wood core produces a natural flex, allowing the ski to achieve full contact with the snow throughout the turn. MOD technology features an elastomeric secondary core which works as a high-performance suspension and damping system. MOD technology doesn't affect flex, allowing the skis to bend freely while absorbing vibrations and increasing power, forgiveness and performance. MOD Monic mass damping technology reduces unwanted vibrations at their source through the addition of embedded zinc in the secondary core. Metal laminate construction alternates layers of fiberglass and titanium above and below the wood core to provide damp, accurate performance. Titan Technology removes titanium in a small hole pattern from the tip and tail, creating a lighter ski with noticeably lower swing weight. Tip shape increases the effective running surface when skis are flexed in a turn. Tip shape translates into easy turn initiation and increased edge to snow contact, improving stability. K2/MX integrated binding system transfers power directly to the ski for unmatched precision and control during aggressive descents. Lightweight Marker Inter-Pivot heel has a wide footprint, transferring power directly to ski's edges for excellent carving performance. Imbedded hubs in the core of the ski are a wide 50mm apart, decreasing the distance between the binding and ski edge for added performance. Marker Biometric toe features channels that unalign during backward twisting falls to immediately reduce the upward release force. |
