Petzl Ascension Handled Ascender

The Petzl Ascension is standard equipment for big wall climbing. Neither mud nor ice nor freezing rain will make the Ascension loosen its hold. Designed to fit single ropes between 8 and 13mm in diameter, the Ascension features a lightweight aluminum body and easy-grip handle and rope-clamp. The Petzl Ascensions ergonomic handle keeps the ascender aligned with the direction of the pull for maximum efficiency, and a self-cleaning slot removes mud, grime, and ice from the rope as you move upward. Left and right-hand versions are color coded for easy differentiating.
