Just like your first external-frame pack, the JanSport Scout Backpack features a panel-loading design and a sleeping bag bar shelf. This three- or four-day pack works well for teenagers and beginning backpackers, as the external aluminum frame adjusts easily to accommodate torso lengths from 13 to 17 inches.
